About Faiza
Faiza is a Registered Provisional Psychologist in Alberta and a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario. She is passionate about holistic healing, healing trauma in individuals and couples, particularly the BIPOC community, women’s mental health, emotion regulation and emotional intelligence.
She believes people can be empowered to find their own answers by healing the protective parts that emerged to protect them from harm and pain. While these parts kept them safe during trauma, they may now be hindering them from thriving and blossoming in their lives.
Through healing, people can unearth their Authentic Selves, their intuitive voice, distinguish them from other parts, and allow the Self’s inner wisdom guide them on their journey.
As a therapist, she views her role as supportively walking with people, unearthing their inner wisdom, nurturing a safe space within them so they can begin voicing it, and living it. Faiza believes there is always hope, especially when it feels like there is none.

Faiza’s Integrative Treatment Approach

Curious about Therapy with Faiza?
“I’m not so much a “tools and strategies” kind of therapist. I’m more of an “experiential, deep self-exploration, let’s sit in space of curiosity, look within, listen to the inner conversation between you and your parts” kind of therapist.
Why?
Because that is how we truly heal.
Using a bottom-up approach recognized by trauma and neuroscience research, my approach to therapy explores and gets to the root causes of your presenting concerns. Therapy with me looks like gently and compassionately putting back together pieces of you fragmented from the chaos of traumatic storms in your life. Reconnecting you and your parts to your authentic, wise Self while forming a coherent narrative of you, and a place of internal trust, safety and stability.
Strategies tend to present a one-size-fits-all approach. ‘Go for a walk, listen to music, etc’. Clients come to me after being told to use these strategies for years and feeling horrible about themselves because they were not sustainable in the long run. Instead, this reinforced their deeper beliefs about themselves. About their self-worth. Their competencies. Their inadequacies. The deeper feelings of “not enough”-ness remained. The strategies set them up for failure and disappointment as they said to themselves, ‘once again, I tried and failed.’ So, you can see why I stay away from these “quick fixes”.
With my love and passion for self-healing, self-discovery, and self-reflection, I would much rather support you with a more sustainable approach exploring the root causes and teaching you to heal yourself, sit in stillness with yourself, in curiosity and compassion, and attune to your inner wisdom. This will return you to a place of calm waters where you’ll feel relief somatically, you’ll find your own path gleaned from your inner wisdom. The process will stay with you after sessions end and guide you for the rest of your life.”
-Faiza Haroon, MACP
How it works?
The process of navigating the mental health system and accessing support can be confusing, especially when you are struggling or accessing mental health services for the first time.
To make things a little easier for you, here are a few steps that may clarify the process so you can access help when you need it!

Step 1: Connect
Reach out via the Consultation Request form, phone or by clicking on one of the links to Book a Consultation.
You may request a Free 20-minute Consultation or an Appointment based on your needs and preferences.

Step 2: Profile
A new profile will be created for you on our online portal (Jane). You will receive a Welcome email if you have provided your email address, as well as a Booking notification.
If you do not receive this email, please feel free to create a New Profile and book your consultation/appointment.

Step 3: Confirm
Once you receive the booking notification, please confirm the date and time of your appointment/consultation. If you would like to make any changes, contact us as soon as possible.

If you have booked a consultation, you do not need to complete the Intake forms at this point.
If you have booked an appointment, please complete the Intake forms prior to your first appointment.

Step 5: Prepare
Prepare for your consultation or first appointment.
1) Create a private space free from distractions for your appointment time so you may express yourself freely.
2) Write notes on what you would like to explore – struggles, the type of support you are looking for, any questions you may have, etc.

Step 6: Breathe
Breathe! The hard part is over.
You are ready to receive support and explore a good fit for you and your psychological needs.
Good luck!
Please note: If your first appointment is booked without a prior consultation, we will use it to support you as we assess whether it is a good fit.
