Healing Indecision

Lately my conversations with some of my clients have centered around indecision.

Let’s explore indecision from an Internal Family Systems perspective. IFS believes your internal parts are part of an internal family.

Indecision within your internal system may be a protector part, protecting you from something. When we are feeling indecisive, it means we are blended with our indecision part. We are not operating from our Core, Wise Self that carries intuitive wisdom.

Ask yourself, what is this part trying to protect you from?

Is it a manager or a firefighter? Is it proactive or reactive?

Allow yourself to sit with this part. Be curious. Notice. Allow yourself to imagine what this part might look like.

Now take a moment and attentively observe and listen.

Pay close attention. Allow your Self to connect with the part.

Once a deep trusting relationship is built with the part, which might take several visualizations/meditation sessions, the part will show you its burdens. If it feels ready, your Self can supportively help visually release the burdens.

A weight is lifted from the body, particularly areas where trauma is carried.

Following these steps allows you to release trauma blocked in your body.

Protector parts no longer block the core Self that carries intuitive wisdom. There is clarity on what decision feels right. You are now able to sit in your wise Self where you are able to make clear decisions that feel right for you.
